Hello again

ME: “I’m Back!”

You: “Were you gone?”

Earlier this year I decided to take a break from writing exclusively about Star Wars and The Old Republic.  This was due to a few things. Mainly, I started to see more and more really high quality Star Wars fan pages, info sites, and blogs and I felt I really didn’t have the insight or discipline to write a real Star Wars blog, certainly not of the caliber that was already available.  I have been lucky enough to work on a podcast for that stuff with some super-talented folks so the blog was feeling redundant. I also thought it would be fun to write about things other than Star Wars if the mood struck, so I wanted to try a more general pop culture site. In addition, I was keen to build a more customised site by going off wordpress.com and into the footloose and fancy free, plugin-friendly world of WordPress.org.

I found a reliable and well-rated hosting service (SiteGround) and built a little blog. It was indeed very nice to be able to use plugins and really trick out my site with a magazine-style layout (please, WordPress.com, it’s not that hard!) and lots of cool little extras like image galleries, custom fonts and layouts, apps integration, and so on. At Stardustpop.com I have been writing sporadically about gaming, books, art and lifestyle stuff.

But then alas, renewal time came around last month and the price of the hosting skyrocketed– it’s over $250! I don’t blog much to start with. Like hardly at all, actually. I would just use Tumblr if I could understand the damn thing, but since I don’t, I have decided to slink back to wordpress.com and my comfy little Tatooine Dreams. I transferred most of my posts from StardustPop over here and only some of them broke in transit, so you can take a peek if you want. (StardustPop.com now redirects here to TatooineDreams.com.)

If you are still following me from before, thank you! If you’re new here, thank you, too! This blog will now be used for the occasional posting of pop culture stuff, including Star Wars, Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts, gaming, books, telly, etc. and for posting my art.

May the Force be with you and I solemnly swear that I am up to no good!
